Hear what Camp Directors have to say about CCUSA
The best way to let you know about our services is to hear from happy Camp Directors.
I was originally hired on the spot at the CCUSA job fair in London, England in 1996 at YMCA Camp Coniston in NH. My role for 1996 & 1997 was as a program director. From 1998 - 2000 I was promoted to the Boys’ Camp Director and completed an 18 month internship. I have now just completed my second year as camp director for Easter Seals NH Camp Sno-Mo serving children and adults with disabilities. Camp and CCUSA have changed my life and my career path. Thank you. Robert - Easter Seals Camp Sno-Mo, New Hampshire
We hire a large group from CCUSA every year, and they are always some of our best, brightest, and most loved staff! The online access to applications and information makes it so simple to see who I have, who I need, and who they have sent me to review. Kelly – Camp Harker, California
As an international staff member, I’m so excited to offer our children the unique cultural diversity and flavor that only International staff can bring. The children (and the American staff) love their accents, their different words, their new games and the special opportunities they get to learn about other cultures and countries. CCUSA continues to provide us with some of the finest young men and women from across the globe and those staff are frequently some of our best counselors. We are so happy to have worked with CCUSA for more than 10 years and the level of customer service we’ve received during that time has been exceptional. Every detail is covered and help is never more than a phone call away. Nathean – Camp Sonshine, Maryland
THE JOB FAIRS WITH CCUSA IS THE BEST WAY TO HIRE INTERNATIONAL STAFF! I have done the job fairs with CCUSA in Eastern Europe for seven years. Each country director does an excellent job at organizing the fair, and making each camp director feel at ease in a foreign country. The participants are outstanding; their work ethic is incredible. It is a great experience to be able to meet and talk with each one and see the environment that they are coming from. I feel I understand my staff a little bit more by traveling to their countries. When they get to camp they are so happy to see a familiar face. Thank you CCUSA. Ann - Camp Rockywold, New Hampshire
CCUSA has been an exceptional program. The information on the applications has enabled me to sense if the applicant would be a good match for our camp with children with special needs. I know that each applicant has been screened and that the CCUSA staff is well aware of those students that would fit into our program. Every staff member that we have hired from CCUSA has well represented their country and has made a lasting impact not only on our campers, but also for our entire staff. Jerry - Camp Nuhop, Ohio
My international staff from CCUSA provided a unique opportunity for my campers to meet girls from other countries and learn about other cultures. One of the benefits of this is that the campers then learn to appreciate differences between people rather than dislike people because they are different. My Australian staff member taught Australian football, the Netherlands staff member taught the campers the song “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” in Dutch and the UK staff member taught the campers and staff the “real” English ways of saying things such as knickers, bum-bag, and indicator. The staff and campers both benefit. The staff is so excited to have international friends to visit someday and make special connections with people from other parts of the world.
