I’m so glad I went through CCUSA to Volunteer in Africa. I felt so prepared and excited about the trip before I left, and they helped me figure out which programs were the best fits for me. Once I arrived at my first project, the experience of volunteering with kids exceeded all my expectations, and I’m so excited to begin my next project to work with animals! Allison, United States
Volunteering in South Africa was the most rewarding experience of my life so far. At the end of my stay I really felt like I made a difference to the lives of the disabled children I had helped at the Horse Farm in the Constantian Valley. Seeing their smiles every day I was there truly made the whole trip worthwhile! Grace, United States
Working with penguins was a dream come true for me, especially as I was interested in studying Veterinary Science. Releasing penguins that had been rehabilitated into the wild was definitely a highlight of the trip for me. I really enjoyed my whole stay and it was great not having to worry about finding a place to stay or getting picked up from the airport. CCUSA and You2Africa definitely made the trip really easy to organize. Michael, United States
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in South Africa working with at risk street children. It was definitely tough at times but it was also good seeing the difference in the children from the start to the end of the program. CCUSA and You2Africa were great and helped me settle in to life in Africa. One of my favorite things was traveling through Africa afterwards and seeing the amazing countryside and wildlife. Definitely a trip I will never forget! Joel, England
The best thing for me about my trip to South Africa was CCUSA’s placement with my host family. My host family and I became really close and I am already planning a trip to visit them this summer. They were so supportive, giving and friendly that it really made me appreciate them and made my amazing experience so much better. Heather, England
I didn’t realize how touched I was by my experience in South Africa until after I returned home. Receiving a postcard from the staff at the children’s home I was working at made me realize that I actually had made a difference. I also gained much more confidence and it definitely helped me get my current job at a nursery in Stockholm. Hilary, Sweden
