PROGRAMS - GHANA

Community Development

A variety of NGO’s around Ghana are working to promote economic development in small towns and rural areas. These organizations focus on adult education and building development. Interns will assist with ongoing projects and help implement new projects and innovative approaches. This program requires a 3-month commitment.

  • Minimum:  3 months
  • Location: Ghana 
  • Lodging/Meals:  Host Family; Breakfast and dinner are provided

Journalism

Interns are given the opportunity to work in the newsroom, assist the editorial staff and write articles at various print media outlets in Accra. Journalism internships are set-up on an individual basis depending on skills, experience and goals of the applicant.

  • Minimum:  2 weeks
  • Location:  Accra, Ghana
  • Lodging/Meals: Host Family; Breakfast and dinner are provided

Legal Aid

Law student and law school graduate internships are available within various organizations around Ghana providing legal services to underserved populations.  Interns will gain insight into the practice of law in Ghana and will become familiar with many of the legal and human rights issues faced by the poor.  Applicants must be prepared to adapt to challenging cultural differences.
