PROJECTS - COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Homes for Impoverished Families - CAMBODIA

Participants help to provide higher quality housing to families in poverty through several building projects.  Believe it or not you’ll have the chance to build a house in one week which makes a dramatic improvement in the lives of these families. You do not need to have experience in construction to participate on this program.

  • Minimum:  1 week
  • Location:  Siem Reap, Cambodia
  • Lodging/Meals: Volunteer House; Breakfast included daily at guesthouse.  Lunch included daily during the week at project

Human Rights & Community Enrichment - CAMBODIA

This program focuses on communities who have been subject to human rights violations and suffer from a lack of financial stability.  Tasks will include helping to build towards a fairer society, addressing poverty, and stimulating education.  Women and children are especially vulnerable and so facilitating educational activities is crucial to helping them change this difficult reality.

  • Minimum:  4 weeks
  • Location:  Phnom Penh, Cambodia
  • Lodging/Meals:  Volunteer House OR Home Stay Family; 3 Meals per day included

Rebuilding Schools - THAILAND

Volunteers on this project work to maintain and rebuild schools.  Schools in Thailand are in various levels of disrepair so international volunteers help them repair and maintain facilities that they might otherwise be unable to afford.  

  • Minimum:  1 week
  • Location:  Koh Samui Island, Thailand
  • Lodging/Meals: Volunteer House/Monday – Friday, Lunch is provided, Breakfast and Dinner and all meals on the weekend are Self-Catered

School Renovation Project - NEPAL

This project takes place at a primary school outside of Kathmandu.  The school provides free education and supplies to children living in the slums.  There are not enough classrooms and materials to properly educate the students.  Volunteers are needed to help keep the doors of this school open by providing basic upkeep and maintenance.

  • Minimum:  1 week
  • Location:  Kathmandu, Nepal
  • Lodging/Meals:  Volunteer House; 2 Meals per day included (Breakfast and Dinner)

Women’s Support - INDIA

This program plays a key role in helping support women in a male-dominated society where women are less educated, abused and lack the opportunities necessary to become independent.  Volunteers will work with women in various centers to help provide literacy classes, computer and IT training and guidance on income generating ventures.  Volunteers will directly impact the future prospects of women and girls.

  • Minimum:  2 weeks
  • Location:  Delhi, India
  • Lodging/Meals:  Volunteer House; 2 Meals per day included (Breakfast & Dinner)

Women’s Support - NEPAL

This program is based in the rural areas of Nepal where women are dependent on men, abused, uneducated and often kidnapped into sex trafficking rings throughout Asia.  Volunteers help improve the quality of life by providing them with economic tools, basic education, improved health and life without violence. 

  • Minimum:  1 week
  • Location:  Kathmandu, Nepal
  • Lodging/Meals:  Host Family; 3 Meals per day included

Women’s Support - THAILAND

This program helps support single mothers who are having or have had children out of wedlock.  Volunteers help support young pregnant women or new mothers who often have been shunned by their families.  Volunteers provide education, assistance, childcare and companionship, helping these women and their children achieve a brighter future.

  • Minimum:  4 weeks
  • Location:  Chiang Mai, Thailand
  • Lodging/Meals:  Volunteer House; Daily, Breakfast included, Monday through Friday Lunch is included at program site, Dinner is Self-Catered, Lunch and Dinner are Self-Catered on weekends
