MAKE A DIFFERENCE

This is a remarkable program for remarkable people, who are willing to put their home comforts on hold for a short (or long time) and work to make changes that can last forever.

WHAT DO YOU GET

  • Arrival transportation from the airport to the local office, Host Family or Volunteer House for most programs.  Some programs require you to get your own transportation to the local office.
  • Arrival orientation that consists of a video and Q&A time with the program heads. You will learn more about your volunteer placement, the local surroundings and meet your fellow volunteers.
  • Almost all projects include 2-3 meals each day which are either prepared for or by the volunteers. Some projects do not include meals during weekends.
  • A Completion Certificate & Report on your Volunteer Program should this be required for studies or other purposes.
  • Accommodation in one of the following:

ACCOMODATION:

Host Family

  • A Host Family (which is paid by the program) in the community where your Program operates. Accommodation is included for the duration of the Program, including breakfast and dinner (7 days a week). Please note that this accommodation can be basic, and the Volunteer is expected to eat as their Host Family does. If you have special dietary needs, you should provide this for yourself.

Volunteer House

  • A Volunteer House houses volunteers from several programs in the area.  The Volunteer House is backpacker style accommodation and is completely self-catering. Breakfast and Dinner meals included during the week. Lunch and weekend food costs are your own responsibility. Expect to pay on average $100 USD per month for your food budget. The Volunteer House is very conducive to socializing.
