PROJECTS - YOUTH ENRICHMENT & DEVELOPMENT

Children’s Community Center - ALBANIA

The youth community center just outside of Tirana focuses on providing disadvantaged children (mainly from Egyptian and Roma backgrounds) the opportunity to learn, eat healthy meals, and of course have fun and play games with each other! With your help, the center hopes to reduce the chances of these children being exploited, and instead be inspired to work towards a successful future.

  • Minimum:  2 weeks

Child Development – TURKEY

Volunteers on this program will work with disadvantaged children in the ancient city of Istanbul. The program aims to teach children creativity, social responsibility, entrepreneurship and volunteerism. These skills are vital to becoming responsible and compassionate adults.

  • Minimum: 1 week
    Location:  Istanbul, Turkey
    Lodging/Meals:  Public Hostel; Meals Included

Impoverished Children’s Support - ALBANIA

This program helps provide much needed child care and support to children just an hour south of the capital city of Tirana. Most of these children are from Roma communities and unfortunately do not have the same access to education and other resources. The NGO that manages the project aims to create a brighter future for these kids who have been neglected and discriminated against.

  • Minimum:  2 weeks

  • Lodging/Meals:  Volunteer House with Kitchen, Self-Catered

Impoverished Youth Development - MOLDOVA

Volunteers will support the youth in the local community of Causeni. The work involves organizing events, seminars and workshops focusing on cultural diversity, human rights, healthy living, inclusion and active community involvement. All initiatives are created to empower young people, so they will make positive changes in the future.

  • Minimum:  2 weeks
  • Location:  Causeni, Moldova
  • Lodging/Meals:  Host Family; 2 Meals per day included (Breakfast & Dinner)

Social Development for At Risk Youth - BOSNIA

The Bosnian War between 1992 and 1995 has had a lasting effect on different ethnic groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Unfortunately, the children of these marginalized groups are often the victims of prejudice and their parents often unemployed. Volunteers will work with children between 4 and 14 years old in educational workshops and creative projects with the goal of having the children interact with each other and learn about others from diverse backgrounds.

  • Minimum:  4 weeks
  • Location:  Brcko, Bosnia
  • Lodging/Meals:  Volunteer Apartment, Self-Catered

Youth Development Project - MOLDOVA

This program was developed to help 11 – 14-year olds from the urban and rural areas of the Causeni region work on their communication and relationship building skills. Volunteers will be working to help the youth improve their prospects, create a sense of hope and belonging. The program uses digital storytelling to help them address global issues and connect with their world in meaningful ways.

  • Minimum:  2 weeks
